Organic-rich sludge can be dehydrated and pelletized to create economic value.Untreated sludge has high moisture content, and 10%-15% moisture is a strict requirement for pelleting. The dehydration process includes 3 key steps:
Pretreatment: Add flocculant and mix thoroughly to optimize sludge structure for dehydration. Remove most water via sedimentation or thickener, turning sludge into paste form.
Mechanical dehydration: Extrude the paste in a press or dewatering equipment to filter out excess water, forming semi-solid sludge.
Deep drying: Crush the semi-solid sludge into granules or powder, then dry it to reach the 10%-15% moisture standard.
We supply rotary dryers for this stage, featuring high drying efficiency and large output. You can choose the right model as per your needs.
Once dehydration is completed, the qualified sludge can be processed into pellets with a pellet mill.
