Material selection: Based on corrosion and working intensity. Use stainless steel for strong corrosion/small ring die holes (high force); carbon steel for low corrosion/low intensity; alloy structural steel for medium intensity.
Aperture determination: Matches pellet diameter; choose slightly larger aperture for materials with poor fluidity and difficult forming.
Compression ratio selection: Ratio of effective working length to aperture; larger ratio for high-hardness pellets, smaller ratio for easy forming/low hardness requirements.
Smoothness and wall thickness: Prefer high smoothness (reduces friction, improves quality and service life); wall thickness depends on working intensity—thicker for high intensity.
