Biomass materials must meet these requirements:

The material must be ground, with a fineness at least finer than rice husk.

The material must be dried, with optimal moisture content between 13-18%.

Hard objects like iron and stones must be avoided in the material.

These three conditions are essential for the pellet mill to extrude materials into biomass pellets. Thus, raw material processing is critical, and corresponding processing machines have been developed for different materials. Below focuses on wood-based materials.

Wood-based materials need crushing, screening, drying, and grinding before being made into pellets. The process is as follows:

Use a large wood chipper machine to break large wood pieces into smaller chunks.

Use a screening machine to separate materials of different sizes; oversized chunks are sent back to the hammer mill crusher machine for reprocessing.

Dry the screened wood chips to reduce moisture, meeting subsequent production needs.

Feed the powdered wood chips into the pellet mill, which extrudes and shapes them into biomass pellets.
