Purpose-based Classification
Biomass pellet mills are mainly designed for eco-friendly energy production. Their raw materials include wood chips, straw, rice husks, forestry waste and other biomass. The finished pellets can replace coal for heating and power generation.
Feed pellet mills are applied in the animal husbandry industry. They use raw materials such as corn, soybean meal, straw powder and fish meal. The finished pellet feed features good palatability and balanced nutrition, which reduces feed pickiness and waste of animals.
Industrial pellet mills are suitable for special raw materials like rubber, plastic and mineral powder, meeting the forming requirements of industrial materials.
Structure-based Classification
Ring die pellet mills adopt core components consisting of a ring die and press rollers. Raw materials are extruded into pellets by the rollers from the inner side of the die. With high productivity and high pellet density, they are suitable for large-scale industrial production.
Flat die pellet mills are equipped with core components including a flat die and press rollers. Characterized by simple structure as well as easy operation and maintenance, they are ideal for small workshops and family farms, though with relatively low productivity.
