Precautions for Lubrication of Hammer Mill Equipment

All gear reducers in this section should be filled with No. 46 mechanical oil. The oil level should reach the center mark of the oil gauge—avoid underfilling or overfilling (the maximum oil volume should not exceed half of the gearbox capacity). Excessive oil may cause stirring heat, leading to elevated operating temperatures and reduced service life of the gear reducer. The initial oil change should be performed within 300 hours to prevent carbon buildup or excessive impurities from damaging the gears. Subsequent oil changes should occur every 2,000–3,000 hours.
All bearings should be lubricated with yellow or dark red grease (lithium-based grease). Avoid using white grease (calcium-based grease), as it has poor adhesion and inferior lubrication performance. Blue grease (HP high-temperature composite lithium-based grease) and black grease (molybdenum disulfide extreme-pressure and high-temperature composite lithium-based grease) offer better performance but are more expensive. Check all lubrication points for insufficient grease every shift, and replenish grease every 3–5 shifts.
