Fault causes: Frequent motor stalling, uneven material feeding leading to unstable current, main line current unbalance exceeding 10% of rated current, phase loss in main power cable, long-term overload operation, insufficient lubrication for bearings on end cover, and other abnormal causes.

Troubleshooting methods:

For frequent pellet mill motor stalling, resolve it in accordance with the troubleshooting methods in 《Pellet Mill Jamming and Blockage》.

Uneven material feeding causes unstable current, which results in frequent fluctuations of the pellet mill motor operating conditions and abnormal motor temperature rise. If this fault occurs, use baffle plates to control material bed thickness (keep thin material bed), and adjust feeding volume by regulating the conveyor feeding speed via frequency converter.

If main line current unbalance exceeds 10% of the pellet mill’s rated current, arrange a professional electrician to take measurements with a multimeter. In case of current unbalance, check whether other equipment is connected to the main line and remove such interfering equipment.

For phase loss in the main power cable, confirm the fault through measurement by a professional electrician and conduct step-by-step inspection. Check the circuit from the electric control cabinet to the power distribution box in the power distribution room, the air switch of the power distribution box, the cable from the power distribution box to the transformer, and the transformer fuse. Poor contact points will cause phase loss, and all defective parts shall be replaced in time.

Long-term overload operation will cause overheating of the pellet mill motor and even burn out the motor. Overload operation is strictly prohibited during equipment operation.

Insufficient lubrication of end cover bearings will also lead to excessive temperature rise of the pellet mill motor, and even cause bearing damage. Lubricant shall be added regularly in strict accordance with the equipment lubrication standards.

If the motor overheating fault still exists after all the above inspections and troubleshooting, contact the after-sales service personnel in a timely manner.
