How to Choose Biomass Buffer Silos: Anti-Bridging/Clogging for Pellet Mills

Biomass buffer silos are key to efficient pellet production—but bridging (material arching) and clogging can stop your line, wasting time and cutting profits. Here’s how to pick one that keeps wood chips, straw, sawdust, and other biomass flowing smoothly:

✅ Material & Structure: Choose silos with wear-resistant, smooth inner liners. Conical bottoms (60°+ angle) ensure gravity flow—no dead zones for compaction.

✅ Anti-Bridging Features: Look for built-in vibrators, air fluidization, or rotary agitators. Our adjustable-frequency vibrators break up clumps without damaging biomass.

✅ Right Capacity: Match the silo to your pellet mill’s output (e.g., 500kg/h mill = 1-2m³ silo). Overloading = compaction; under-sizing = frequent refills.

✅ Sealing & Moisture Control: Opt for airtight seals + optional dehumidification ports. Keep woody biomass moisture at 10-15% to avoid clumping.

✅ Biomass-Specific Design: Dense materials (e.g., wood pellets) need strong agitators; light materials (e.g., straw) require air fluidization.
