Pellet Machine Jamming and Blockage

The causes of this fault include excessive compression ratio, uneven or overly rapid feeding, unstable material moisture content, loose roller gap, or impurities in the material.  
 
Troubleshooting Methods:
If the machine previously operated normally, check whether the material has changed. A high compression ratio in the ring die can easily cause jamming. If the compression ratio is confirmed to be too high, replace it with a ring die of a smaller compression ratio.
 
Inspect whether the feeding is uniform and whether the material layer is too thick. Inconsistent thickness can lead to unstable current and eventual jamming. If this is the case, use a baffle to control the material layer thickness and adjust the feeding speed via the frequency converter to regulate the feed rate.
 
Unstable material moisture: If the material contains both dry and wet portions, feeding dry material first may result in high compactness and resistance. Subsequently feeding wet material, which is softer, may fail to push through the preceding dry material, causing jamming. To resolve this, adjust the material moisture to 13%-18% and ensure thorough mixing.
 
Loose adjustment bolts on the rollers or an excessive gap can lead to an overly thick pre-compression layer, increasing operational resistance and causing jamming. In such cases, readjust the roller gap.
 
If the material contains impurities (e.g., iron, stones, or large wood chunks), screen and remove metal contaminants before feeding it into the particle machine.
