When replacing hammer plates, ensure each plate has the same weight to prevent machine vibration, which can lead to bearing damage or even spindle breakage in severe cases. Use a gram scale to weigh each plate individually, ensuring a weight difference of no more than 5 grams, with a maximum tolerance of 10 grams.
For lighter plates, use a welder to add weight (avoid welding the striking area), and for heavier plates, use a grinder to reduce weight by grinding or cutting. If replacing only one severely damaged or broken hammer plate, remove a normally worn plate from the machine for comparative weighing. If replacing an entire set of new hammer plates, weigh and compare each one individually.
