Rotary Dryer Startup: Start the discharge conveyor → rotary dryer drum → furnace ignition → fan → airlock feeder → feed conveyor. Begin slow feeding once the rotary dryer feed inlet temperature reaches 200℃. Rotary Dryer Shutdown: Stop the furnace first, and gradually reduce the feed rate until the rotary dryer temperature drops below 200℃ → Stop the feed conveyor at temperatures below 200℃ → Stop the rotary dryer drum after the temperature falls below 100℃ → Stop the airlock feeder once material discharge ceases → Stop the discharge conveyor → Shut down the fan after the furnace fire is fully extinguished.
2. Rotary Dryer Temperature Control by Material Moisture
Rotary dryer operators must continuously inspect the moisture of incoming materials and adjust the dryer’s furnace temperature accordingly to avoid fire risks. When raising the rotary dryer temperature, always increase the feed volume simultaneously. Operation with high temperature and insufficient feed is strictly prohibited in all working conditions. The specific temperature standards are as follows:
20–30% material moisture: Control the rotary dryer inlet air temperature at 200–300℃, maximum 400℃.
30–40% material moisture: Control the rotary dryer inlet air temperature at 300–400℃, maximum 500℃.
40–50% material moisture: Control the rotary dryer inlet air temperature at 400–500℃, maximum 550℃.
Over 50% material moisture: Keep the rotary dryer inlet air temperature at approximately 500℃, with a strict maximum limit of 550℃.
Operators shall constantly monitor the dryness and humidity of materials discharged from the rotary dryer and adjust the feeding speed in real time: increase the rotary dryer feed volume if the discharge material is overly dry; reduce the feed volume if the discharge material is overly wet.
