.Special attention must be paid during shutdown. Do not stop the feeding conveyor in a hurry. Shut down the furnace first. Gradually reduce the feeding rate as the temperature drops, to avoid ignition caused by a small amount of high-temperature material. When stopping the rotary dryer, ensure the temperature falls below 100℃. A stationary high-temperature drum may collapse and deform. The fan shall be turned off last to maintain good air circulation inside the drying cylinder of the rotary dryer. This prevents excessive accumulation of combustible gases such as CO under smoldering conditions, which may explode when exposed to open flame.
.Furnace temperature control method for the rotary dryer: Temperature rise: Close the auxiliary air inlet, ash cleaning port and coal inlet, and increase coal feed rate. Temperature reduction: Lower the furnace temperature gradually by opening ports in sequence: ash cleaning port → auxiliary air inlet → coal inlet, while reducing coal feed rate accordingly.
.Emergency measures for jamming of the rotary dryer: First, fully open all auxiliary air inlets, ash cleaning ports and coal inlets, stop coal feeding and shut down the feeding conveyor. Pry the large gear ring promptly and jog its drive motor to resume drum rotation of the rotary dryer as soon as possible. Meanwhile, shovel away materials at the discharge conveyor outlet. If rotation cannot be restored after about 10 minutes of attempts, sprinkle water inside the furnace to extinguish smoldering fire, and keep prying the drum until it rotates. Do NOT shut down the fan, discharge conveyor or air lock during this operation.
.Emergency measures for fire inside the rotary dryer
First, fully open all auxiliary air inlets, ash cleaning ports and coal inlets, stop coal feeding and shut down the feeding conveyor. Shovel away materials at the discharge conveyor outlet immediately, and sprinkle water inside the furnace to put out the fire. Do NOT shut down the fan, rotary drum, discharge conveyor or air lock during this operation. After all burning materials inside the cylinder are completely removed, keep the rotary dryer running for 0.5 to 1 hour. Shutdown is permitted only after confirming the fire is fully extinguished and the cylinder temperature drops below 50℃. Continue inspection for 1–2 days after shutdown. Normal startup is allowed only when no combustible residues are found.
.Regularly check belt conveyor deviation. Correct misalignment promptly to avoid belt tearing. Inspect belt fasteners for lifting or falling off; repair or replace them immediately if found to prevent belt damage.
.Replace the sealing leather of the air lock in a timely manner. If frequent material blockage occurs on the cyclone, check whether the sealing leather is damaged and causing air leakage; replace it if damaged.
.Causes of cyclone material blockage: damaged air lock sealing leather, poor pipeline sealing, and blocked baghouse dust collector restricting airflow. Troubleshoot and fix them one by one.
.Equipment maintenance must be carried out with power cut and machine shutdown to prevent personal injury. Regularly check electric circuits and wires for electric leakage. Always pay attention to safety.
.Clean the rotary dryer after every shift to maintain a good working environment. Failure to clean regularly leads to excessive dust accumulation. Dust adhering to electrical contacts inside control cabinets and motors may cause short circuits under humid conditions and even dust explosions. In addition, any fire outbreak will become difficult to control and may result in irreversible consequences.
